Briefing

The challenge was to develop the visual identity for the 13th International Medicinal Mushroom Conference (IMMC13), an international scientific conference dedicated to research, innovation, and applications in medicinal mushrooms.

The project included the creation of the logo, visual concept, color palette, and typography, as well as the definition of the visual foundations for the event’s official website, which centralizes all institutional, scientific, and organizational information. The identity aimed to integrate the core theme of medicinal mushrooms with references to the host city, Bragança, balancing organic and scientific elements with a contemporary, institutional visual language.

The goal was to create a strong, scalable identity capable of supporting communication across multiple platforms and positioning IMMC13 as an international reference within the scientific and academic community.

Concept

The logo is built around the connection between science, nature, and patrimony.

The mushroom represents the scientific focus of the conference, while the castle symbolizes the host city, Bragança. The fusion of organic and geometric forms reflects the balance between scientific research and the natural context, resulting in a simple, conceptual symbol aligned with the international and academic character of IMMC13.
